Meet Our Pro (Michael Hicks)

Originally from Ohio, Michael moved to the Asheville area in 2006. He picked up the game of golf at age 28 and has been hooked ever since. He discovered his passion for teaching the game around 10 years ago. He enjoys making a very difficult game easier to understand, therefore becoming more enjoyable than stressful. Michael is a big advocate of using cutting edge technology to help understand body motion throughout the swing.

Michael's Credentials:

• 15 years of teaching experience and 5 years of coaching experience
• 2006-2011: Golf Professional at Reems Creek Golf Club
• 2013-Present : Assistant Golf Professional at Mountain Air Country Club
• 2018 -Present: Head Golf Coach at Asheville Christian Academy
• Trackman certified
• Certified club fitter

What does a typical lesson look like:

Using our Trackman radar technology, Michael will get an initial assessment then determine a plan of action. Starting with a strong focus on body mechanics: proper grip, stance, ball placement, weight transition throughout the swing. Once we establish the basic and consistent body mechanics we will dive deeper into more detailed instruction on the mechanics of the swing.
